Community & Mission · Greater New Orleans

We lift the organizations that lift New Orleans.

Practical technology for the people doing the work. More opportunities for the people coming next.

Palanca helps nonprofits, churches and schools build dependable systems. Our paid technology work also helps fund free community programs, bringing digital skills, coding and robotics to neighborhoods where access is scarcest.

A local technology practiceClear scope. Useful work.Capability that stays with you

For organizations

Good work needs dependable systems.

You have people to serve and a day that is already full. We help put the records, tools and everyday processes behind that work in better order.

Nonprofits

Donor and program records your staff can trust. Intake that reaches the right person. Reports you can explain to a board or a funder.

Churches

Member records that make sense, a clear handoff between staff and volunteers, and a website people can rely on for current information.

Schools

Administrative workflows that take less chasing. Clear ownership of accounts and tools. Documentation for the people who keep the school running.

Know what you have.

A plain-English inventory of systems, accounts and access. Understand who controls what, what needs attention first, and what can wait.

Make your records useful.

Clean up donor, member or client records, review duplicates, document fields, and leave a maintenance plan the next person can follow.

Give one process a clear path.

Map an intake, request or approval from start to finish. Set up and test the tools, clarify each handoff, and train the people who use them.

Finish the move to a better system.

Plan the migration, reconcile the data, document a way back, and archive the old system. Leave your team with one clear way to work.

Keep the essentials protected.

Strengthen sign-ins, clarify access, and test that backups can be restored. Put the next steps in writing so your team knows what to maintain.

Make your public information work.

A useful website, working domain and email, and a content guide for whoever updates them next. Make it easier for people to find what they need.

A clear agreement comes first.

Technology help for organizations is paid project work. We agree the scope, deliverables, dates and price in writing before work starts. Tell us what you need and the budget you are working within; we’ll talk through what is practical.

Tell us what needs fixing

The work stays with you

A stronger setup. A proper handoff.

The point is to leave your people better equipped to run the work themselves.

Your accounts. Your control.

Accounts and subscriptions stay in your organization’s name. You know who controls them and how to recover access.

Training in plain English.

We work with the people who will use the tools every day. The documentation should make sense to whoever comes next.

A signed record of what changed.

Every engagement closes with a Lift Report: cover, what was stuck, what we changed, and what’s now possible. Four pages you can keep, share with your board, or hand to a funder.

Two parts of one practice

Paid work helps fund free learning.

A share of Palanca’s paid technology work supports free community programs in Greater New Orleans. Sponsors and host partners help make those programs possible, too.

The connection is practical: organizations and businesses need people who can use modern tools. Community programs give more people a place to start.

A place to learn. Room to try.

Digital Skills for Work helps adults heading into a new job or returning to work. Beignet Bytes introduces young people to coding. Robotics & Maker Stations let kids build small machines and learn how they work.

Programs are free to participants. Dates and locations will be announced as host sites are confirmed.
