About Palanca · Greater New Orleans

A capable neighbor. A better way to work.

Technology experience, put to work close to home.

Palanca is a Greater New Orleans technology practice, formed in 2026. We help small and mid-sized businesses, nonprofits, churches, and schools put modern tools to work, with a focus on the people who have had the least access to them.

A share of what we earn funds free technology programs in the neighborhoods that need them most.

How we work

Good technology. Clear principles.

We come to you.

Your office, your shop, your conference room. We learn how your organization actually runs before we recommend anything.

Plain English wins.

If a technical word is needed, it gets explained. You should never have to nod along.

The price is in writing first.

We say what we’ll do, what it costs and when it will be live. Then we do it.

You own everything.

Accounts, domains and subscriptions are set up in your name. We never hold the keys to your business.

Teach, don’t hoard.

By the end of every launch, someone on your team can explain what we built and run it day to day.

The name

Small effort. Well placed.

Palanca is the Spanish word for lever. A small effort, applied at the right point, moves a heavy load. Most of what a growing organization needs from technology is the right tool, set up properly, with people who know how to use it.

The word carries a second meaning. In the Jesuit Kairos retreat tradition, a palanca is a letter of support given at an important moment. The Lift Report at the end of every launch is its descendant: plain English, signed, and handed over in person.

pah-LAHN-kah · stress in the middle

The principle behind Palanca An original diagram of a lever: a long beam, balanced on a copper fulcrum, raises a square load.
Focused work. A useful result.

Rooted here

New Orleans shows up in what we know.

The twelve-person HVAC company running dispatch off a whiteboard and a group text. The tax practice that doubles its hours every spring. The general contractor who writes estimates in the truck between jobs. The family restaurant taking catering orders by text and a paper calendar.

The church coordinating volunteers, the nonprofit keeping its donor records straight, and the school managing a small technology budget. Plenty of them have never had anyone sit down and set this up for them. That’s the work we know, and it’s where we start.

We meet where you are: an office, a shop floor, a job-site trailer. Sometimes a phone call works just as well.
